JoJo is a mother and active Wilmington resident. We had seen her at multiple community meetings, and I was very touched by her passion when I met her in person. She is a beautiful strong woman who wants to ensure a better quality of life for children growing up in Wilmington. Jojo doesn’t just accept what she is told, but thinks critically about the environment around her. She believes that living in Wilmington has caused her family’s health problems. Jojo has done extensive research on the link between air quality and her sons’ conditions of Asthma, ADHD, and ODD. Unfortunately, Jojo doesn’t have the option of moving out of Wilmington. Instead, she focuses her energy on looking for natural remedies to best help her sons, and wishes to help other parents understand how they can best deal with these conditions.
