Local Eats- Louie’s Chinese

Jairo Bogarin-Duarte is a local resident with a sharp tooth for delicious food. In his posts he will give the inside scoop on the tasty cuisine Wilmington has to offer. He will seek out, taste, and rate the more popular dishes around town, as well as some lesser-known foods on the “Wilmas Menu”.

Louie’s Chinese Food has been serving hot-deliciousness for years in our town.
They recently relocated to Anaheim St./Broad Ave because of the construction of the new school on Avalon. Different venue, but same great food. If you seek better-quality Chinese fast food, you have found it here. 1/2 sit-down family restaurant, 1/2 buffet-style display. The food is prepared fresh daily, and the taste shows it.

They offer pork, beef, and chicken prepared in a variety of ways; they’re glazed in sweet and spicy sauces, sautéed with crunchy vegetables, breaded in different flavors, and barbecued to perfection. The variety of chicken can’t be touched within city limits. They offer orange chicken, ginger chicken, hot wings, teriyaki chicken, spicy chicken, chicken with mushrooms, green beans, onions and peppers. Different sauces lathered on the dishes provide a great variety of mouth-watering tastes.

Craving something hot? Their hearty soups come over-flowing with cabbage, broccoli, celery, shrimp, chicken, sliced beef, and other Asian vegetables. The great combination in the soups packs a savory flavor found only at Louie’s. The “to-go” plates come over-flowing with scrumptious items. The hefty portions are what keep people coming back to Louie’s. For about five dollars you can easily feed 2 people. The big servings for reasonable prices keep this small restaurant going strong. Their low-key location, familial environment, and tasty cuisine puts this Chinese eatery atop my list. So the next time you’re craving some hefty food for skinny prices, drop by Louie’s Chinese.
