Wilmington is a predominantly working class Latino community. We are surrounded by 4 oil refineries, a rail yard, two freeways, and two ports: Port of L.A and Port of Long Beach. These sources of pollution has created many health problems for residents. Because many of our community member’s suffer from asthma, the Little Company of Mary is offering free asthma screening and education at the Wilmington Community Clinic, on Mondays from 4 to 8. It is a little help for those that do not have health care.
