Now that it is getting closer to the summer, it is a good time to plant some shade trees. The DWP, in a partnership with Million Trees LA, has created a program called Trees for a Green LA where they offer customers FREE shade trees. 

All you have to do is:

• Be an electric customer
• Complete an online workshop (Approximately 20 minutes) 
• Submit your completed tree order and site plan. (available after workshop)
• LADWP will deliver the trees to your home; you then plant and care for them.

REfrigerator Turn-In and REcycle (RETIRE) Program offers FREE pick up of old refrigerators or freezers and a $35 dollar refund.

 Requirements

• LADWP residential customers  
• Units must be minimum 10 cu. ft. / maximum 27 cu. ft. in size. 
• Call 1-800-246-0441 for pick up
• Fill out Consumer Rebate Application (Only if you want the rebate)

An additional appliance rebate program is being offered through the State of California for a LIMITED TIME. CASH FOR APPLIANCES begins April 22, 2010 and will terminate when funds run out, or on May 23, 2010, whichever comes first. For more details, call 1-888-390-4034.   

They also offer LOW INCOME RATES when customers fill out an application!
