The 2011 Visions from the New California awards seek to support and promote the work of outstanding California visual artists from geographically and ethnically diverse communities. This project is coordinated by the Alliance of Artists Communities, with funding provided by The James Irvine Foundation.
Six highly talented, yet under-recognized visual artists residing in California will be selected to receive a one-month residency and a $4,000 award. Each artist will be included in a widely distributed publication designed to assist the careers of the award recipients and in an exhibition in 2012.
The deadline for applications is May 20, 2010.
Additional information, as well as an online application, can be found at http://www.visionsfromthenewcalifornia.org.
